Is there a Stereo Windshield that will work with both ORTF and XY?
Unfortunately our Stereo Windshields do not offer both ORTF and XY configurations in one basket.   Stereo Windshield Kits from Rycote on Vimeo.
Is there an ORTF solution for Josephson C42MP microphones?
The BBG windshields are really the only choice you have to get an ORTF set up with the C42’s. Below are the part numbers & descriptions, also added are the details of a stereo bar + mounts we make that’ll work for holding them.   Description: 21mm BBG Windshield Order Code: 011007 Web link: www.rycote.com/products/011007   Description: BBG Windjammer Order Code: 021801 Web link: www.rycote.com/products/021801   Description: InVision Stereo Pair Kit Order Code: 041125 Web link: www.rycote.com/products/041125   BBG Windshield + Windjammer from Rycote on Vimeo.
I have a WS9 which I use with the Schoeps CCM41. Can I fit an Ambient Emesser on top?
To piggyback the Emesser on top of the CCM41 you'd need to switch the suspension to the non-Lyre M/S suspension. It depends on what age of suspension you currently have as to what we can do to up date it. If its the old style metal bar suspension, then all we need to supply is a hoop with 21/19mm back to back clip fitted. If its a new suspension, with plastic bar - then we'll need to swap out the whole suspension.   This is the suspension you require:   Description: Suspension XX-Small MS Mini Order Code:040107 Web link: www.rycote.com/products/040107 UK List: £ 164.00 exc. I've lost the grips that hold the two microphones together in the Stereo M/S configuration. Can I buy these separately?
Yes, you'll need 2 x Universal back-to-back clips - Details are: Description: Back-to-Back Clips Order Code: 048488 Web link: www.rycote.com/products/048488
What are the pin assignments in the Connbox - CB3?
Thanks for your enquiry. Please find attached the CB-3 schematic. CB-3_Mk2-STD_Rev1_Wiring_Spec   I hope this answers your question. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Do you offer an ORTF solution for XLR mics?
We don't currently offer a boxed ORTF windshield solution for XLR mics, but there is an effective custom workaround on request.   The main challenge with XLR mics in an ORTF setup is accommodating the large XLR-F connectors internally. Due to the sideways positioning of the microphones within the windshield, the connectors would likely impact the edge of the basket, rendering any recordings useless when the kit is moved on location. This problem can be solved with a custom build using mini/right-angled XLR-F connectors.   In all cases, the mics need to be small (ideally between 50 and 60mm in length), and all specifications must be checked by a Rycote technical specialist.   Once the mics have been measured and the setup tested, the relevant modifications would be made to a Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit. Please note that this kit does not include a Connbox, which would need to be purchased separately in order to route the XLR-Binder cables internally.   If you would like to talk to someone who has experience with this modification, please contact our Rycote technical support team via the support page here.   A good alternative to consider for ORTF and its variants is the following:   - 2x BBG windshields; - InVision Stereo Pair Kit (for spacing adjustments).

Stereo back-to-back clips
For M/S stereo combinations we make stereo back-to-back clips which allow a pair of mics to "piggy back" on each other. For general M/S pairs in a "Stereo" basket, of 140mm we recommend the following: Description:   Universal (19/25) Back-to-Back Clips
Order Code:   048488
Web Link:      www.rycote.com/products/048488 For M/S combinations that are going to be mounted inside Mono (105mm) windshields, we'd recommend the smaller profile back-back clips. These can be specified in their diameter combinations, depending on the mics. Description:    PAIR OF 19/19mm - 25RD/25RD STEREO CLIPS

I have the AC XY/MS kit, i'd like to know how to convert it from MS to XY?
To convert the suspension from M/S to X/Y. You should should be able to unscrew the main thumb wheel on top (and under) of the plate so that the metal pin comes free and can rotate to one of the other 4 slots. You shouldn’t need to completely remove it.    Attached is a diagram showing the degrees for the XY set ups. You can download this if needed.     Stereo Windshield Kits from Rycote on Vimeo.
What would you recommend for the Superlux S502 ORTF stereo microphone?
We would recommend two 22mm BBG windshields & Windjammers® for the S502: these would fit onto each microphone separately. Please note: the mic capsules are slightly over 22mm in diameter, but should still slide through the BBG grommet when twisted gently.   Relevant product info and order codes for 22mm BBG: http://mymic.rycote.com/products/windshield-solutions/bbg-windshield/22mm-bbg-windshield-/    More info on our range of BBG Windshields can be found here:
Do you have a system that I can use my Neumann KM 184's in ORTF?
Due to the length of the KM 184's. They will not fit in to our ORTF or XY baskets! You can use this system: Description: InVision Stereo Pair Kit Order Code: 041125 Web link: www.rycote.com/products/041125    For decent wind protection when using the Neumann KM 184's, we'd recommend: Description: 5cm Super-Softie (19/22) Order Code: 033205 Web Link: http://www.rycote.com/products/033205
When recording stereo, can you take two Tac!t cables down to a 5 pin XLR? I need to save weight and space.
Yes, you can leave the Tac!ts in the NC3MXXs and take the the two cable ends into a single NC5FX(X).

So that's a Y-split of two Tac!t NC3MXXs to one NC5FX(X). Both screens to Pin 1, Ch 1 to pins 2 &3, Ch2 to pins 4 & 5.   Rycote Tac!T Inline Filter from Rycote on Vimeo.
Can you use the ORTF windshield kit (080211) in XY configuration also?
I'm afraid not. The Modular bars are pinned in place to maintain the correct angle for the ORTF set up. With the Connbox and cable tie in place it would not be possible to arrange the lyre's in an X/Y config. I've attached a photo to show the pins:
