Is it possible to use both the Charter Oak 538 (68mm diameter) and a Carvin CTM100 (46mm) in the USM-VB?
The standard thumbscrew grips in the USM-VB stop at a minimum of 55mm.  However, it’s not a problem for us to make a USM-VB using the longer USM screws. The suspension will be a special order item. Description: InVision USM-VB (Fitted with USM screws)
Order Code: 044912   The performance will not be affected by using longer screws. The 900g+ of the Charter Oak is getting to the limit of the weight the USM & USM-VB Lyres will take. It'll cope fine as long as the mount is used vertically, but if it's angled then you'll see some sag. The problem with the sagging is if the inner support ring touches or knocks the outer ring, as it'll cause noise. So in short, fine if it's held vertically.   InVision USM and USM-L from Rycote on Vimeo.
What thread does the USM range use? I'm using the US standard 5/8's.
Our InVision USM range come with a female 3/8"-16 UNC brass thread built in, and a 5/8"-27 UNF brass thread adaptor supplied in the box. So it will work with the 5/8 stand no problem.   InVision USM and USM-L from Rycote on Vimeo.

Which USM shock mount would suit the "The Flamingo" JZ-01 Violet Design tube microphone?
That's actually larger than our standard USM-VB will accept (max diameter is 68mm), and slightly heavier than the max weight of 900g. We can make a special USM-VB (72mm), but this would be a special order (but the same price as the standard USM-VB).

Do you anticipate making an Invision shockmount that will fit the Neumann TLM 49 mic (weight 825 g, diameter 78 mm, length 165 mm)?
At the moment the largest diameter of mic our mounts can hold is 68mm, with the USM-VB. So the TLM 49 at 78mm is too large. Unfortunately at this time we do not have any plans to make a larger suspension.     InVision USM and USM-L from Rycote on Vimeo.

Will the USM shock mount hold Bock 195's being used as drum overheads?
The weight recommendations for the USM are guidelines only. The reason we specify a max weight for angled or horizontal is because heavier microphones will make the inner ring of the suspension sag slightly towards the outer ring. This is more of a look problem than a performance problem, unless the rings hit each other. If they hit each other then the suspensions performance will be reduced. There is however almost zero chance of damaging our suspensions from use with a 725g microphone, so I would confidently say that the InVision USM would be good for the Bock 195 for drum overheads. Which shock mount is best suited for the Audio Technica AT 4047?
Both the USM and USM-L would work perfectly fine in the vertical position. However, if you have heavier microphones that you would also like to use in the shockmount. I'd opt for the InVision USM: Description: InVision USM

What is the difference between the InVision USM and USM-L models?
We have a video that shows both the USM & USM-L above. The main difference is the horizontal & angled weight that the USM and USM-L can tolerate before the Lyres sag. The weights refer to the support the individual Lyre will give, in terms of sag when mounted horizontally - not the weight the mount can hold securely. When a heavy mic is used horizontally, or angled then the weight will make the inner ring sag towards the outer ring. This isn’t ideal, hence why we’ve recommend a max. horizontal weight. When used vertically for vocals, this issue is not a concern. The soft-grip pads will hold well in excess of 2 kg.   Lyre Horizontal & Angled weight tolerance - USM - 500g USM-L - 250g   For more information, here is an article in SOS about the USM - http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar10/articles/rycoteinvisionusm.htm Hope this helps!
